*Boy and Peanut*
Once a boy found a jar lying by on his way to home. It had a narrow-neck and was full of peanuts. Seeing the peanuts, boy wanted to eat it. So, he hastily put his hand into the jar and held as many peanuts as his hand could grasp. But when he pulled it out, he couldn′t do so. So, he felt disappointed and started crying.
A man was looking at the boy from a distance. He came to the boy and said, Don′t be haste. If you take half peanuts at the same time, you can pull your hand out. You can take other half with a second trial.
The boy did as the man said and was happy to get the peanuts. He thanked the man and went away.
*Moral : Haste makes Waste.*
ஒரு சிறுவன் வீட்டிற்கு செல்லும் வழியில் ஒரு ஜாடி கீழே கிடப்பதைக் கண்டான். அந்த ஜாடி சிறிய கழுத்து பகுதியை கொண்டதாகவும், முழுவதும் வேர்க்கடலை நிரம்பியதாகவும் இருந்தது. வேர்க்கடலையைக் கண்டதும் சிறுவன் அதை சாப்பிடுவதற்கு ஆசைப்பட்டான். எனவே, பதற்றத்துடன் அவன் தன் கையை ஜாடிக்குள் விட்டு, கை நிறைய வேர்க்கடலைகளை எடுக்க முயன்றான். ஆனால், அவன் கையை வெளியே எடுக்க முயன்றபோது, அவனால் கைகளை வெளியே எடுக்க முடியவில்லை. எனவே, அவன் ஏமாற்றமாக உணர்ந்து அழ ஆரம்பித்தான்.
ஒரு மனிதர் தூரத்தில் இருந்து சிறுவனின் நடவடிக்கைகளைப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார். அவர் சிறுவனிடம் வந்து அவசரப்படாதே, பாதி வேர்க்கடலைகளை மட்டும் எடுத்தால்தான், நீ உன் கையை வெளியே எடுக்க முடியும். நீ இரண்டாவது தடவை மீதிப்பாதியை எடுத்துக் கொள்ளலாம், என்றார்.
அவர் கூறியது போல் சிறுவன் செய்தான், வேர்க்கடலைகளை எடுத்து சந்தோஷமானான். அவன் அந்த மனிதருக்கு நன்றி சொல்லிவிட்டு சென்றான்.
